The Server Crashed - Or Did It?

Just got this e-mail from Jeff Walker…

Well, the server really DID crash…

OK, I’m very sorry for the delay… it was haywire this morning. The server crashed after we were live for a minute… and we couldn’t get it back up for more than 35 minutes. It required a physical reset.

There are two things to address here…

The first is that Internet Marketers have used this ‘ploy’ so many times that even Jeff Walker, the creator of this ‘trick’, has to say - no no, it really DID crash!

Yes, I know it’s supposed to build a frenzy and so on but that’s a tactic I won’t use.

Which leads me to my next point…Why wouldn’t I use this?

Well, if you’re allegedly making millions of dollars a year, don’t you think you could afford to have a beefy server for your product launch? Don’t you think you could spend a day or two to stress test the server?

Yeah, that’s what I thought and that’s why I won’t use this tactic.
