Simple Trick to Cut Your Stress in Seconds

I recently started reading The 4-Hour Workweek by Timothy Ferris.

I’d heard quite a bit about it on various blogs and people saying “OMGZ You’ve got to read this!”, etc. etc. ad nauseum.

Usually, when something is promoted that heavily and I check it out it’s just a marketing gimmick.

In this case, however, I think there’s actually some substance to it…

One of the suggestions in the book is to only check your e-mail twice per day.  Specifically, at noon and at 4pm.

Now, for years, I have prided myself on the fact that I was one of the technological elite.  I had my outlook settings set to check my e-mail once per minute! And you know what?  When that text popped up to tell me I had new e-mail - I was right on it reading and answering as fast as possible.

It didn’t matter what I was doing.  I would interrupt just about any task to read and answer that e-mail.

No more.

Enough is enough.  This morning, I didn’t check my e-mail when I got up and walked into my home office.  In fact, I waited a couple of hours and got some important work done.

Not only that but I also have my e-mail set to only be checked every 3 hours and will likely increase it to 4 or more later this week.

Nothing burned down today.  The world didn’t end and most importantly, I have noticed a significant decrease in the amount of stress I feel today.

Give it a shot.  You might actually like it!

G-Man, someone just gave me that book for my birthday and I agree, if you can get past the Tony Robbins/used car salesman schtick the guy has some GREAT advice. Applying it will be easier said than done for me, though! Best regards,Vic
