Removing Sex Offender Profiles on MySpace

Because you know it’s really gonna work…

http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,128087-page,1-c,internetlegalissues/article.html

That’s sarcasm in my first sentence just in case you couldn’t tell.

Look, I’m all for keeping sex offenders off of places like MySpace just like I’d keep them away from other high risk places like a playground.  Of course, there’s the issue with a distinction between a sex offender and a pedophile but I digress…

Once this policy gets into play and they really start banning profiles, it won’t take long for someone to simply - oh my god - give different details?

Sure, hire a few people to monitor this maybe but I really doubt it’s gonna do much good.
