New Tool Drastically Improves Page Views!
I found a very neat tool recently that I tested on the SEOmoz folks. Shhh…don’t tell them they were part of a test ok? Let’s keep that little secret between you and me! I don’t want them lynching me 
And, actually, I used two tools for this test, both of which I’ll tell you about shortly.
Before I do that though, there’s something you need to know…
I think that I’ve developed IDD…It’s a new condition called Internet Deficit Disorder and the symptoms are excessively relying on the headline of an article before you click or read the rest of the article.
It’s a horrible, debilitating disease! Yes, it saves me from infoglut but it also stops me from being able to find out some really cool stuff when someone writes a headline that sucks.
To help me with my new condition, I’ve been working very hard at developing headlines that don’t suck so badly. Unfortunately, that’s rather difficult. Why?
Well, one word versus another can make a big (huge, massive, large?) change in the effectiveness of a headline.
For instance, look at these words:
- Big
- Huge
- Massive
- Large
Which one do you think will work better? Certainly, part of it depends on the words that surround the words above, but if you could create a little vacuum with only one of those words, which one would perform better?
What if I told you that the word ‘large’ had an approximately 76% chance of performing better?
You’d call me a fool and ask me for the proof right? LOL.

Of course, when you’re using a tool like this, you need to have a wide selection of words available to you - and I’m happy to report that I found one kick ass tool.

Now, I’ll grant you that the content is a bit controversial but the header worked just as I expected it to and that post drew lots and lots of comments - many from people I’d never seen comment before!
I plan on testing these headlines in other places to see how well they perform but if you want to read more about hard results, look no further.
