How To Drive Your Visitors Away Before The Page Finishes Loading
Many of you know that I’ve literally created billions of spam pages. MFA sites…also known as Made For Adsense sites.
It’s a quick, easy way to make some cash - even with the recent bannings that Google has started to do.
Anyway, I digress a bit…
One of the things that I am constantly doing is tweaking my pages and adding new features to see if the CTR is going to go up or down…
About a year ago, I came across something that I thought was rather amusing so I added it to my site.
The CTR plummeted. We’re no talking a 10% decrease but a 100% decrease. My earnings dropped literally hundreds of dollars that day.
So what did I add that made my page suddenly do so horribly?
Audio
Yep, that’s right, when the page loaded, I played an audio file that said something along the lines of, “Hi, thanks for visiting my site. I hope it clicks with you.”
LOL - it was a really sorry attempt at getting people to click on my ads and wow - did I pay for it.
Now, I can’t prove that the reason my CTR dropped was because of the audio or because of what I said in the audio because I’ve never attempted this experiment again.
It’s my belief that it was the audio. Why? Well, how many times have you been at work, taking a short mental break and you pop open a web browser and start clicking…and then it happens…you open a web page with audio.
Pretty soon, you’ve got people peeking over their cubicle walls wondering what in the hell you are doing!?!
So as soon as you hear a single bit of audio - BAM - you close the browser. It’s the most effective way to get it to shut up.
Now, I’ll be the first to admit that I haven’t worked a ‘real’ job in about 3 years now. No cubicles for me!
So it’s entirely possible that things have changed in the normal workplace and maybe audio is accepted.
Or, it’s possible that you’d be ok with losing a few people over the ones that will stick around.
What is my point? Well, there’s a new product out called Video Pop-in Genius (ooh, ahh)…
It takes the concept of the dynamic html (DHTML) slide in pop-in that are pretty much unblockable and adds in video to the pop-in.
It’s an interesting concept. I think that, as usual, more testing needs to be done to find out if it’s going to be more effective than a regular page or not.
And, you know what? It might work in some industries better than others.
For now, however, I’ll stick with the generic MFA pages that earn me so much

P.S. OMGZ - This offer isn’t available to the general public!!! So you better act now before the price goes up! LOL - some of this sales copy cracks me up. Don’t fall for the sales gimmicks please! Figure out if you actually need something before you buy it!

Verrrry interesting. Especially as audio is all the craze. I enrolled for a teleseminar course, and one of the key elements is the use of audio postcards and audio on most pages.

Well, audio and video do work well. And I'm not saying to not use them.
However, I do think that if you use them you should make sure to do some testing to find out if autoplaying it as soon as the page starts will drive visitors away or not.
It's really simple to do this. I have code in a lot of my blackhat pages that tells me how long it takes for a page to load as well as how long someone spent on my page before moving on.

I will hit the back button if a page has audio.
